Shortly after we will arrive to the Golden Mycenae, a UNESCO World Heritage site one of the major centers of Greek civilization and a military stronghold which dominated much of southern Greece. You will visit the Cyclopean Walls, the Lion’s Gate, the Treasury of Atreus and the Royal Tombs of Agamemnon and his wife Clytemnestra's, major protagonists in the war of Troy. After a break for an optional lunch by the sea we will visit Epidaurus first the small ancient Theatre followed by the big theatre with its amazing acoustic, one of the best preserved classical Greek buildings still in function as every summer many troupes are performing in front of a public of thousands of people. We will continue to our final destination Nauplio the first capital of modern Greece with its Venetian fortress of Palamidi, the beautiful narrow streets with nice old stone mansion, nice shops and cafes and off course the famous fortified islet of Bourtzi.
